Massena Fire Department prepares for liquid hydrogen facility emergencies
Future plans for Massena include constructing a liquid hydrogen facility. The technology would not only create new jobs but also new difficulties for the region.
For instance, the Massena Fire Department would have never responded to an emergency call at the plant before. The department’s current equipment, such as its thermal imaging cameras, will aid in its response. However, the fire brigade could require extra tools, such as stronger water cannons.
Air Products and Chemicals won’t begin building its hydrogen facility plant on Pontoon Bridge Road in the town of Massena for more than a year.
G20 Energy Transitions Group recognizes Green Hydrogen Innovation Centre
The Green Hydrogen Innovation Center and Global Biofuel Alliance were recommended by India at the G20 Energy Transitions Working Group meeting in Goa, a senior government official said here on Thursday.
Reporters were informed by Pankaj Agarwal, Union Power Secretary, who presided over the conference, that there had been great consensus on hydrogen-related concerns. The Global Biofuel Alliance and the Green Hydrogen Innovation Center, both proposed by India, have been noted by the working group, he added.
There has been a significant convergence of thought around affordable financing for the energy transition. The voluntary action plan put up by India to double the rate of energy efficiency by 2030 has been noted by the Working Group, he added.
