TNPA RFIs South African port hydrogen initiatives

Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) has released a Request for Information (RFI) for the building of a terminal facility and related facilities for hydrogen projects at its commercial seaports in support of South Africa’s shift to a low-carbon economy.

In order to determine the level of interest in creating, planning, building, funding, running, and maintaining an import and export terminal for hydrogen initiatives, the RFI evaluates the market. This covers green hydrogen at the ports of Saldanha, Durban, East London, Mossel Bay, Ngqura, Port Elizabeth, and Cape Town, as well as green ammonia, green methanol, and/or green hydrogen.
