Gen2 Energy has appointed Andreas Ekker as Senior Vice President of Global Sales, and Paal André Utvik as Vice President Shipping and Logistics.
Andreas Ekker is an energy specialist who has worked with Shell, Hustad & Granaas, and Circle K, where he held international leadership positions in oil refining, B2B sales and pricing, logistics, and project execution. Andreas has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, as well as an executive master’s degree in management from BI Norwegian Business School.

My responsibility will be to identify and team up with industrial companies for offtake of Green Hydrogen. Paal André Utvik began his career as a marine engineer at Lesund, Norway, before moving on to work globally in Houston, South Korea, China, and Singapore. His diverse background includes oil exploration R&D for PGS, ship building supervision for Leiv Höegh & Co., and business development and Regional Manager Asia for Grieg. Utvik founded Storm Capital Partners in Shanghai in 2012, where he is still Chairman of the Board, and Floating Energy Group in Singapore in 2012, both of which operate with floating gas-fired power plants. He earned his MBA from Fudan University in Shanghai in 2008.

There is a strong increase in the awareness of the need for a green shift, and I want to be a part of that. I am looking forward to working with skilled colleagues here in Gen2 Energy, where I will oversee the building of suitable vessels for hydrogen transport as well as the overall logistical operations involved in bringing the fuel of the future to customers all over Europe.”
