Getech has joined the United Nations’ Race to Zero campaign, pledging to become carbon neutral by 2030, in line with the Company’s commitment to use its skills and technologies to accelerate progress toward global net-zero.
Getech will keep its word by applying its extensive earth science and geospatial expertise to the transitioning primary energy sector, assisting customers in the optimization of existing assets and the delivery of new ones.
The Company is already using its skills and technologies to support the development of the blue hydrogen market and the development of green hydrogen hubs to decarbonize transportation and heat infrastructure, including geothermal energy to produce heat and power, carbon capture, utilization, and storage to support the development of the blue hydrogen market, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage to support the development of the blue hydrogen market.
Getech also plans to increase its exposure to the value of these activities by making direct investments in carbon-neutral energy projects. Through the application of its technology, Getech will be able to decarbonize its own operations.
Getech’s first project investment is in green hydrogen, which it will produce through its subsidiary H2 Green at its own supply hubs. This hydrogen will be used in vehicles, heating, and power generation as a carbon-neutral fuel. Any remaining emissions will be offset using carbon offset credits generated by other H2 Green projects.
This is a case study for future investments that the Company plans to make as part of its efforts to demonstrate empirically how energy companies can successfully implement their own low-carbon technologies and net-zero strategies.
