In 2025, Hamburg will become the first federal state to ban combustion-powered taxis.

Hamburg launched its “Future Taxi” project in 2021 to encourage the transition to locally emission-free cabs. Over 350 of these vehicles, 25 of which are hydrogen-powered, are currently on Hamburg’s streets, claim the authorities. The Hamburg taxi fleet already holds the top spot nationally with a proportion of 12% of such less environmentally hazardous vehicles.

Also deemed successful by industry representatives was the “Taxi of the Future” project. The close collaboration of all participants in the urban mobility scene is the deciding factor.

Now, FREE NOW has arranged for about 80% of the locally emission-free taxis in Hamburg. The business and passenger side have both routinely provided excellent feedback.
