The “first indigenous hydrogen HGV” will be unveiled by Hydrogen Vehicle Systems, a new zero-emission heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer in the UK, next month.
According to the Glasgow-based company, the 40-tonne vehicle will have a driving range of up to 370 miles and a refuelling period of 15-20 minutes thanks to its hydrogen-electric technology.
At the Commercial Vehicle exhibition on April 18, it will officially introduce the vehicle, which it claims was entirely designed and constructed in the UK.
The Advanced Propulsion Centre, which is supported by the UK government, awarded HVS a £15 million grant in December.
