The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH has issued a tender titled “81312736-Renewable Hydrogen Development Chile”, published on February 10, 2025.

Prospective applicants must submit their tenders by 12:00 PM (UTC+1) on March 11, 2025. This tender is significant as it forms part of an EU-German initiative to advance the development of renewable hydrogen (RH2) in Chile, aiming to enhance both climate and economic objectives.

The primary objective of this tender is to develop integrated models for producing and consuming green hydrogen and its derivatives in specific regions of Chile, including Antofagasta, Biobío, and Magallanes, as well as Chilean Antarctica. The aim is to support the growth of the green hydrogen industry within Chile, positioning it as a major player in the global market and promoting exports.

Key requirements of the tender include experience in developing renewable energy projects, particularly those exceeding 100 MW with photovoltaic and wind capabilities. Applicants are expected to have experience in geographic modeling related to hydrogen infrastructure, harbor logistics, and developing hydrogen derivatives such as ammonia, e-fuels, and methanol. Technical proposals should include a minimum of three reference projects in similar fields within the last three years.
