The Blue House expressed its optimism that the Moon Jae-in government’s “hydrogen vision” will be continued in the future administration.

“The President’s Story Not in the Briefing – Episode 44,” Park Soo-hyun, senior presidential secretary for public communication at the Blue House, wrote on Facebook this morning, “President Moon held a staff meeting on the 1st and said, “As if we were preoccupied with LNG carriers from the beginning and overpowering them, hydrogen.” He stressed the need for ships to do the same “President Moon is committed to a hydrogen strategy, he added.

According to Chief Park, “President Moon believes that hydrogen ships can take the lead since Korea is far ahead of LNG carriers in terms of technology. I asked him to look into it and report back, and I’m hoping that the future administration would place a greater focus on it.”

President Moon had already given orders about hydrogen ships, according to Chief Park, and he was referred to as a “hydrogen specialist” by his staff. “Considering the future growth of the hydrogen economy, evaluate if LNG carrier building technology can be adapted to liquid hydrogen ship construction and push it,” President Moon said during a staff meeting last July.

According to Park, “When the hydrogen economy grows in the future, the share of hydrogen transported by pipeline will shift to sea transportation. It is important to create liquid hydrogen carrier technology similar to LNG carriers in order to prepare for the development of domestic hydrogen imports. There will be a lot of competition.”

By 2030, Korea, Germany, Japan, and China all want to deliver hundreds of thousands to one million hydrogen vehicles. as a result of the fact that it is predicted to be

According to Park, “According to the ‘hydrogen technology development roadmap’ established in October 2019, Korea is promoting the development of core technologies for hydrogen ships based on hydrogen fuel cell technology and LNG carrier construction technology, both of which have unrivaled advantages. He stated, “The essential infrastructure and system upgrade should be promoted in phases, taking into account market needs and the ship’s economic evaluation.”

According to Chief Park, “In the not-too-distant future, I will sketch the naming ceremony for Korea’s first hydrogen ship. When that time comes, I’ll go out on my own and become a hydrogen specialist, overseeing and encouraging the building of a hydrogen ship until the conclusion of his tenure in government. We eagerly forward to sending the.”
