An important project in Western Australia’s interest, the HyEnergy Project has been given lead agency status by the state’s government.
As a nominated State agency under the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation (DJTSSI), the official status allows for a higher level of coordination.
It’s the next step after submitting a Project Definition Document to the department, in which key information about the project and its backers is outlined. An 8 GW HyEnergy Project scoping study is nearing completion, and Province Resources has teamed up with the leading French renewable Independent Power Producer Total Eren to complete the scoping studies.
At a ceremony to open Province Resources’ new Carnarvon office, Hydrogen Industry Minister Alannah MacTiernan announced the lead agency status for the HyEnergy Project’s development on Saturday, December 18, 2021.
The HyEnergy Project will be on display at the Province office, which will complement the recent establishment of a regional hydrogen technology cluster in Carnarvon, West Australia. In order to build the Gascoyne region’s capacity for commercialization, the cluster aims to bring together local stakeholders.
Australia’s and Western Australia’s governments are working with Province Resources,Total Eren and other industry participants to make the Gascoyne region a world-leader in green hydrogen production.
