Hygreen Energy has delivered a 25-Megawatt electrolyzer system to Huadian Weifang Power Generation in Shandong, marking a significant achievement as the largest hydrogen production project in the region.
The commissioning of this alkaline electrolyzer system is projected for completion in the first quarter of 2025. The system is designed to generate 3.6 tons of hydrogen daily with nearly absolute purity.
This installation is pivotal for integrating hydrogen production with Huadian Weifang’s existing power infrastructure. It aims to reduce renewable energy wastage and enhance grid resilience. The produced hydrogen will serve various purposes, including fueling a hydrogen refueling station and blending with natural gas for supply to local enterprises and residents. This initiative is a part of China’s “Hydrogen Into Ten Thousand Homes” strategy, highlighting the country’s commitment to hydrogen energy storage.
Benny Wang, Hygreen Energy’s CEO, emphasized the importance of this development. He stated that the 25-megawatt scale validates the role of electrolyzers in large hydrogen projects and showcases Hygreen’s technological capability for similar global ventures.
