Hyphen Hydrogen Energy has partnered with the SDG Namibia One Fund to develop the country’s first gigawatt-scale green hydrogen project.
This significant collaboration aims to leverage Namibia’s vast renewable energy resources, including solar and wind, in producing hydrogen sustainably.
The project marks a pivotal shift in Namibia’s energy sector, aiming to position the country as a leader in green hydrogen production in Africa. By adopting this technology, Namibia intends not only to meet its own energy needs but also to export green hydrogen globally.
This venture aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting affordable and clean energy. Both Hyphen Hydrogen Energy and the SDG Namibia One Fund are committed to ensuring the project’s operations meet high environmental and social governance (ESG) standards.
The green hydrogen project is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including job creation and skill development within Namibia. Additionally, by reducing reliance on fossil fuels, the initiative will contribute to lowering carbon emissions, aligning with international climate change mitigation efforts.
