On the CGIL’s web-based debate on hydrogen and its prospects for Taranto, participants concluded that the steel manufacturing is one of the sectors where hydrogen’s usage is in a more sustainable production perspective.
“Puglia has made an exceptional contribution to the development of renewable energy” and can now be “the ground for a strong experimentation of the new model based on the use of hydrogen”.

The Councilor for the Environment of Puglia clarified that for the substantial investments that must be made in terms of renewables, we should strive to hold two themes together: investments and the preservation of the Apulian ecosystem, referring to the dynamic processes that are seen as “a brake on investments.”
