Keppel Corporation has signed a preliminary agreement with Woodside Energy, Australia’s largest oil and gas developer, for the supply of liquid hydrogen.
This deal is aimed at powering Keppel’s data centers in Singapore and could start as early as 2030. This term sheet is a crucial initial step towards a formal agreement. Woodside plans to source the fuel from prospective facilities, including its H2Perth site in Western Australia.
Wong Wai Meng, CEO of Keppel Data Centres, highlighted the potential of this agreement to provide a reliable and stable source of lower-carbon energy. The adoption of liquid hydrogen is expected to cut down the emissions from Keppel Data Centres, supporting their sustainability goals.
Keppel Data Centre Singapore 4 is a modern facility consisting of five stories with a net lettable area of approximately 84,544 square feet. It boasts a high occupancy rate of 92 percent, underscoring the demand for efficient and sustainable data processing services.
