Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and Korea Ceramic Technology Institute have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the commercialization of carbon-neutral hydrogen energy-based cement technology.
The goal of this MOU is to collaborate on ways to use hydrogen energy in the cement manufacturing process. With the signing of the MOU, the two organizations will work together to develop a technology that can use hydrogen fuel as a new heat source in the cement manufacturing process, as well as a technology to produce syngas from the cement manufacturing process’ exhaust gas, and to develop hydrogen energy conversion and carbon neutrality. Collaboration in the demonstration and commercialization of related technologies is encouraged.
Meanwhile, KHNP will take advantage of the Ceramic Technology Institute’s excellent technical resources and network to secure carbon-neutral hydrogen life cycle technology and accelerate entry into new markets. The two organizations will work together to define specific tasks and to identify and promote joint research.
