In Sweden, a new 600 MW facility will be built near the Storgrundet offshore wind farm by the French green hydrogen expert.
Lhyfe, a pure hydrogen player, is making rapid progress. While he announced the opening of the Bouin location in Vendée a few weeks ago, the Nantes-based firm is expanding its international collaborations. The most recent agreement was made with Wpd Offshore AB, a Swedish firm described as one of the world’s leading wind energy providers.
Lhyfe will collaborate with the Swedish company to build a green hydrogen production facility connected to the Storgrundet offshore wind farm off the coast of Söderhamn as part of the arrangement (Sweden).
Every day, 240 tonnes of green hydrogen
Construction on the property will commence in 2025. It will be divided into numerous stages. The ultimate goal is to deploy a 600 MW installed capacity for hydrogen generation, which is expected to be roughly 240 tonnes per day.
The hydrogen production facility should be set up in the immediate area of the offshore park, on the land of the adjacent municipality of Söderhamn. A project that will be “connected” to other regional projects and might be linked to the “Nordic Hydrogen Backbone,” a future network aimed at facilitating hydrogen transportation across the country.
