Lhyfe is making significant strides in the production of green hydrogen, with the announcement of its fifth site in France. Located in Croixrault in the Somme region, this plant aims to produce and deliver up to two tonnes of green hydrogen daily by 2026.
This expansion marks Lhyfe’s first site in northern France and is set to support local manufacturers and mobility sectors in their efforts to decarbonize.
The new site in Croixrault is ideally positioned to serve the Hauts-de-France region, known for its industrial activities like chemicals and metallurgy. These industries, along with logistics and mobility sectors, can benefit from Lhyfe’s clean hydrogen as they transition away from fossil fuels. The ability to produce two tonnes of hydrogen daily can support hydrogen trucks traveling 25,000 km without emitting CO2, underscoring the potential environmental benefits.
The Croixrault facility not only advances energy transition in the region but also contributes to energy sovereignty and sustainable reindustrialization. The site will distribute hydrogen throughout the region, supporting various transportation needs including buses and refuse collection vehicles. This move is pivotal as the region serves as a major logistics hub, making green hydrogen a feasible alternative for heavy goods vehicles and logistics platforms.
Beyond hydrogen production, the site will play a role in stabilizing the local power grid. Lhyfe’s technology allows the site to adjust its electricity consumption, helping balance the grid during peaks in power usage. This capability highlights Lhyfe’s integrated approach to renewable energy and grid management.
