Mobile refueling tech to lower hydrogen cost €1 per kilo

Everfuel introduces a transportable refueling machine, lowering the cost of hydrogen for customers by at least € 1 per kilogram.

The Everfiller refueling machine is a versatile and totally transportable hydrogen fueling system aimed at smaller vehicle fleets.

Everfuel can offer inexpensive hydrogen costs at lesser quantities than a traditional filling station, and it doesn’t require a long-term client commitment, which is often necessary when constructing a permanent station.

Everfuel may give far greater flexibility in terms of length and magnitude of offtake commitment because the machine is totally movable and can simply be rolled away when the fueling period is ended.

Smaller fuel-cell vehicle fleet owners have traditionally faced the issue of making large-scale fixed station expenditures and committing to long-term offtake, which does not necessarily mesh with their business model.

Many operators, on the other hand, want to decarbonize their fleets by experimenting with or embracing hydrogen fuel but have been unable to overcome these obstacles. The Everfiller removes these obstacles, making hydrogen fuel available to customers with modest depots or who want to undertake small-scale studies.

The Everfiller’s design simplicity reduces maintenance requirements, resulting in excellent uptime and availability whenever needed. The device includes three integrated fueling lines aboard that can be immediately filled, allowing it to fuel up to three cars simultaneously. The gadget will be especially useful in bus terminals.

Everfuel’s CTO, Uffe Borup, said: The addition of the Everfiller to our services provides additional flexibility for a variety of clients, as they can pick between a permanent station that provides constant quick fueling or the flexible and inexpensive Everfiller.

“There has been a lot of demand for operators to be able to test hydrogen as a fuel, and we are overjoyed that we can now make hydrogen available to even more people who are striving to decarbonize mobility.”

To yet, discussions with potential Everfiller customers have been quite positive, owing to the Everfiller’s versatility and capacity to considerably reduce the cost of hydrogen for the client by at least € 1 per kilo.

A number of PTOs, including Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH (RVK), WSW Mobil GmbH, and In-der-City Bus (ICB) in Germany, have shown interest in using the approach to fuel their vehicles and participate in prototype testing.

The Everfiller is based on Everfuel’s patent-pending technology, with pilots scheduled for the second half of 2023 and full-scale operations in 2024.
