Air Products and Cummins have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate in the Americas, Europe, and Asia to accelerate the adoption of hydrogen fuel cell trucks.

As Air Products begins the process of converting its global fleet of distribution vehicles to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, Cummins will deliver hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrains fitted into selected OEM partners’ heavy-duty trucks.

Air Products wants to convert its global fleet of about 2,000 trucks to hydrogen fuel cell zero-emission cars after a successful demonstration and pilot phase. The demonstration phase is expected to begin in 2022, according to Cummins and Air Products. Cummins and Air Products will also collaborate to improve renewable hydrogen accessibility, including hydrogen infrastructure prospects that will encourage the adoption of hydrogen for mobility.
