Robert Campbell has been named a non-executive director of First Hydrogen UK Limited by First Hydrogen.
Campbell has served as Ballard Power Systems’ Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer since 2017. Ballard’s key Power Products markets, such as Heavy-Duty Motive, Material Handling, and Stationary Power, are all under his purview, as are global business development, sales, marketing, and product line management.
Campbell joins the company with a wealth of experience in international business development. First Hydrogen’s two hydrogen-fuel-cell powered demonstrator light commercial vehicles (“LCV”) with AVL Powertrain and Ballard Power Systems, and the development of its hydrogen refueling stations with consultants FEV Group, will benefit from his expertise in high-growth markets and capital equipment sales to sophisticated customers. Ballard’s Campbell’s previous roles include: president and CEO of SoloPower Systems, executive VP of Sales and Marketing at Hydrogenics, and senior leadership positions at several construction and power generation companies.
The Schulich School of Business at York University awarded Campbell an MBA in Finance and Marketing after he graduated with a BSc in engineering from Queen’s University. The Professional Engineers Association of Ontario has granted him a professional engineer’s license, and the Institute of Corporate Directors has granted him the ICD.D designation.
