The Nordex Group has been hired by Ignitis Group, Lithuania’s state-owned energy holding firm, to supply 14 N149/4.0-4.5 turbines.

The Delta4000 series turbines are planned for the 63 MW Mazeikiai wind farm in the country’s northwest region. The deal also includes a 15-year premium service contract for the turbines.

The infrastructure work is due to begin in the middle of this year, with turbine distribution and installation planned for 2022. The Nordex Group will mount the turbines on tubular steel towers – eight with hub heights of 155 meters and six with hub heights of 145 meters – to achieve the maximum yields at the site, which has average annual wind speeds of 7 meters per second. The turbines will be operational in the 4.5 MW mode until completed.
