Nordex will supply 17 AW132/3465 turbines for the 58.8 MW Ventos Serra do Mel 4 (VSM4) wind farm owned by Voltalia Brasil.
The order also includes a 15-year service agreement for servicing and maintaining the turbines.
The VSM 4 wind farm will be built in the Serra Branca cluster in Voltalia, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, near the town of Serra do Mel in northeast Brazil.
The Nordex Group will install the 17 VSM 4 turbines on 120-meter concrete towers manufactured by their local factory in Areia Branca, Rio Grande do Norte.
The nacelles will be manufactured in Simões Filho in Bahia and the rotor blades will be purchased from Brazil to ensure the project has maximum local content.
Installation work on VSM 4 is expected to begin in 2020, with full commission scheduled for spring 2021.
