The Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications has issued a new tender titled “12-BYM-2023 Procurement of Contractors for Upgrading Sandakerveien-Nycoveien.”

Published on August 2, 2024, this tender seeks experienced contractors to upgrade infrastructure to support hydrogen fuel applications. The deadline for submission is September 30, 2024. This project is a significant step for the hydrogen industry, aiming to bolster Norway’s commitment to green energy and reduce its carbon footprint.

The primary objective of the tender is to enhance the existing infrastructure along Sandakerveien and Nycoveien to facilitate hydrogen fuel supply and distribution. This includes the construction of refueling stations, pipelines, and storage facilities capable of supporting hydrogen vehicles and other related technologies. By upgrading these systems, the project will help accelerate the adoption of hydrogen as a clean energy source.

Key Requirements:

1. Experience and Expertise: Contractors must demonstrate substantial experience in developing infrastructure for hydrogen or other renewable energy sources.
2. Technical Proficiency: The tender specifies that all designs must comply with international safety and environmental standards, ensuring the safe handling and storage of hydrogen.
3. Sustainability: Proposals should highlight sustainable practices and materials that minimize environmental impact during construction and operation.
4. Timeline and Budget: A detailed project timeline and budget must be provided, adhering to the specified deadlines and funding limits.

Contractors interested in contributing to this landmark project must submit their proposals by the end of September, with the successful bidder playing a pivotal role in shaping the country’s green energy landscape.
