A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Petrofac and Oman Hydrogen Centre (OHC) has been signed to work together on developing Oman’s renewable energy sector’s capabilities, particularly in green hydrogen.
OHC is the first research center of its type in the sultanate and is situated at the German University of Technology (GUtech). It aids the nation in speeding the switch to renewable energy. In line with Oman Vision 2040, the center serves as a global hub for research, technology, education, industrial applications, and the economy.
In addition to numerous studies for small-scale industrial users around the world, Petrofac recently finished front-end engineering design (FEED) for large-scale green hydrogen production facilities. This company has a growing track record of supporting new energy projects across a wide range of technologies.
In order to expand capacity, Petrofac will impart information while utilizing its vast experience in complicated project management, design, and execution.
The Petrofac-OHC alliance will have a big impact on how effectively green hydrogen projects are implemented as well as speed up Oman’s energy transformation. The relationship is set up to encourage the growth of Omani talent as well as to provide experience and help the hydrogen sector.
From its headquarters in Knowledge Oasis Muscat, the Takatuf Petrofac Oman (TPO) training center will also give students access to educational resources, technical training, and hands-on learning to help them develop their skills.
