    Pakistan is set to embark on its first Green Hydrogen project in Thatta through a strategic collaboration with China. The Sindh government has issued a letter of intent, and a vast area of 7,000 acres near the Gharo Jhimpir wind corridor has been allocated for this groundbreaking initiative.

    The project aims to revolutionize Pakistan’s energy landscape by harnessing the power of green hydrogen, a clean and sustainable energy source. Green hydrogen is produced through the process of electrolysis, using renewable energy sources such as wind or solar power to split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. Unlike traditional hydrogen production methods that rely on fossil fuels, green hydrogen production emits zero carbon emissions, making it an environmentally friendly alternative.

    One of the key goals of the project is to provide employment opportunities for the local population. The establishment of the Green Hydrogen project in Thatta is expected to create direct employment for approximately 6,000 individuals, with an additional 2,000 benefiting from indirect employment opportunities. This development has the potential to significantly boost the local economy and improve the livelihoods of the surrounding communities.

    The collaboration between Pakistan and China is crucial in leveraging expertise and resources to drive the success of the project. China has emerged as a global leader in green hydrogen technology, investing heavily in research, development, and deployment.     As Pakistan embarks on its journey towards green hydrogen, the collaboration with China and the establishment of the first project in Thatta mark a significant milestone.
