First shown outside of Poland, Polish Pesa’s H2 hydrogen-powered shunting locomotive made its international debut at InnoTrans.
The locomotive can run for 15 hours without needing to refuel, and it has a 650kW power output. The European Union approval procedure has begun.
Pesa and Polish fuel refiner Orlen inked a collaboration agreement during the event’s presentation ceremony, allowing the locomotive to be offered with a hydrogen refueling station.
Pesa can construct three hydrogen locomotives annually at now, but this number might be increased to satisfy demand. It will take about two years to manufacture one car.
