Petrofac has formed a strategic alliance with Protium, a leading green hydrogen energy company in the United Kingdom.
The strategic partnership aims to provide clients with access to Protium’s green hydrogen expertise and Petrofac’s world-class engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and energy project delivery legacy, bringing this knowledge together to deliver market-leading, innovative green hydrogen and net zero projects across the UK.
The two companies will use Petrofac’s technical engineering knowledge during the early stages of Protium’s projects, with the goal of delivering the full EPC package to joint clients. This comprises projects including the development of renewable energy assets, green hydrogen production facilities, and downstream hydrogen equipment. Clients will benefit from the expedited delivery of green hydrogen projects that are both creative and bespoke depending on the client’s sector and energy needs as a result of this relationship.
Protium’s work aids businesses in transforming their decarbonization strategy to achieve net zero, specifically through the decarbonization of transportation, thermal, and electrical demand, with a rising CAPEX pipeline totaling more than £1 billion.
Protium and Petrofac are already actively pursuing a number of commercial green hydrogen projects throughout the UK, as well as bidding on various government-funded programs to demonstrate the technical and commercial effectiveness of green hydrogen solutions.
