Jean Bua, Chief Financial Officer, executive Vice President, and Treasurer at NetScout Systems, and Kavita Mahtani, Chief Financial Officer, Americas for HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations, have been appointed to Plug Power’s board of directors.

Both appointees will serve on Plug’s audit committee, which will be chaired by Bua.

NetScout Systems, a provider of real-time operational intelligence and performance analytics for service assurance and cyber security solutions, currently has Jean Bua as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, and Treasurer.

Bua spent nine years at Iron Mountain, an information management services company, where he finished as Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, and Worldwide Controller, before joining NetScout as Executive Vice President, Finance & Treasurer of American Tower Corporation, an operator of wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure. She has also worked for Duracraft Corp. and Keithley Instruments, as well as Ernst & Young as a management consultant and KPMG as an auditor. She has overseen all global financial operations for high-growth, transformative public companies, including M&A analysis, acquisition integration, capital market strategy, financial planning and analysis, international tax, financial systems, and compliance.

Bua was a member of Coresite Realty’s board of directors and chair of the Audit Committee until the company was acquired at the end of 2021. Bua graduated from Bryant College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (summa cum laude) and an M.B.A. from the University of Rhode Island.

HSBC’s Americas Chief Financial Officer, Kavita Mahtani, is based in London. Mahtani, who is based in New York, is in charge of a finance organization that spans the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America. Mahtani works alongside the CEO to drive growth and M&A strategy, as well as restructuring and re-engineering efforts.

Mahtani spent 14 years at Citigroup, where she held positions such as managing director – global head of asset and liability management, chief financial officer, global corporate and investment banking, and managing director – global head of financial planning and analysis, among others. Mahtani has worked for Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch & Company, Inc., among others. Mahtani graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School with a bachelor’s degree in economics and the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business with a master’s degree in business administration.
