The Miejski Zakład Usług Komunalnych, a municipal service company in Poland, has issued a tender titled “Dostawa paliwa wodorowego w podziale na dwie części” for the supply and distribution of hydrogen fuel.

The tender was published on February 26, 2025, and the deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025. This tender plays a crucial role in the hydrogen industry as it involves a substantial supply of hydrogen fuel for public transport, supporting the transition to more sustainable energy sources.

The main objective of the tender is to secure the supply of hydrogen fuel amounting to 201,960 kg, with the possibility of extension up to 140,000 kg more under optional terms. The fuel is intended for 11 twelve-meter buses operating in Wałbrzych. This initiative is significant as it demonstrates the increasing deployment of hydrogen as a clean energy alternative in public transportation, potentially reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality.

Key requirements of the tender include ensuring that the hydrogen fueling station can accommodate a pressure of 350 bar to refuel buses within 25 minutes. The tender emphasizes the need for efficient and reliable hydrogen distribution, which is pivotal for maintaining the operational rhythm of the public transportation system.

The implementation timeline for the contract starts on August 1, 2025, and spans three years, ending on July 31, 2028. Prospective suppliers must submit their offers in Polish electronically, and are required to provide a security deposit in multiple acceptable forms, including bank guarantees.
