White Martins, a producer of industrial and medicinal gases, has signed an MoU with Porto do Açu to investigate the viability of manufacturing green hydrogen at the port complex in So Joo da Barra (RJ).
Porto do Açu will conduct research to gather data on the possibility of utilizing green hydrogen (H2V) in the region, according to the provisions of the agreement.
White Martins will utilize the findings to assess the feasibility of constructing green hydrogen and green ammonia plant at the port.
Linde, White Martins’ parent company, has technological experience in the field of electrolysis, which is a critical step in the manufacturing of H2V. The firm also runs reformers that convert biomethane into green hydrogen.
Hydrogen research in CE and RS
Not alone in Porto do Açu is the firm looking into manufacturing green hydrogen. Linde also signed an agreement of understanding with the Ceará government to conduct feasibility studies for H2V projects in the state.
White Martins was the first firm to sign an agreement with the Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP) in Ceará, formally expressing its desire in participating in the port complex’s Green Hydrogen Hub project.
