PowerCell Sweden AB has decided to launch a new Transition Services business area to enable switching to hydrogen-electric solutions easier for clients in various areas.

The rising need to convert to more sustainable energy generation and usage has sparked a surge in interest in hydrogen-electric solutions in the last year. PowerCell Sweden has chosen to launch the new business area Transition Services to make it easier for clients in many areas to examine the possibilities with hydrogen and fuel cells. Transition Services will provide a wide range of services and products to assist clients with component selection and technical solution integration. PowerCell will also provide turnkey solutions through the new business area for bigger customer projects.

PowerCell anticipates the new business area to boost the company’s product sales and contribute to the growth of the base business by easing the transition to emission-free, hydrogen-based solutions.

“Over the last year, we’ve seen clients transition from ordering individual fuel cells to banking on how hydrogen-electric systems may provide a long-term alternative to existing, typically fossil-based technology,” said Richard Berkling, CEO of PowerCell Sweden AB. “Many clients will abandon a system they have used for almost a century in favor of entirely new alternatives with which they have no expertise. When it comes to making the transfer simple and smooth, we have a critical role to play. We aim to provide the customer a sense of security. We believe that by using our many years of research and development experience in the field of fuel cells and hydrogen, we can provide considerable value to customers higher up the value chain. It strengthens our position in the value chain, allowing us to gather useful application data for the development of new products and next-generation technology.”

Consulting services, application projects, turnkey solutions, and training will be the focus of the new business sector. Customers will receive a full analysis of their demands, as well as suggestions for various technological solutions, as part of the consulting services. Non-hydrogen and non-fuel cell solutions will be examined and suggested if they show to better suit client demands. PowerCell’s industrially stable fuel cell stacks and fuel cell systems will be paired with the company’s capacity to adapt to project-specific and application-specific client modifications for the application projects.

Andreas Bodén, who is in charge of creating new strategic business initiatives and driving the development of new product offerings with complementary business models, will lead the new business area.
