Proton Motor’s Fuel Cell System to Boost Deutsche Bahn’s Infrastructure

Proton Motor Power Systems, a leading provider of fuel cell solutions, has announced a follow-on order from DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn AG.

The order is for a fuel cell system based on Proton’s HyModule S8, which will be utilized as a substitute power supply for critical equipment in the rail infrastructure. This partnership highlights the commitment of Deutsche Bahn to robust and clean energy solutions.

The fuel cell system developed by Proton Motor Power Systems serves as a reliable and clean power source for rail infrastructure. It provides a fuel cell substitute power supply, ensuring uninterrupted operation of critical equipment. Fuel cells offer several advantages for rail applications, including high energy efficiency, reduced emissions, and quiet operation compared to traditional diesel generators.

This recent order marks the continuation of a successful partnership between Proton Motor and Deutsche Bahn. Proton previously supplied a fuel cell system to German Rail in 2016, showcasing the company’s expertise and the reliability of its solutions. The decision to place a follow-on order demonstrates Deutsche Bahn’s confidence in Proton’s technology and its ability to deliver sustainable and efficient power solutions.

The implementation of fuel cell emergency power supply in rail infrastructure brings multiple benefits.
