Shanghai Refire Group is preparing to launch its hydrogen fuel cell technology in Europe after receiving Rijks Dienst Wegverkeer (RDW) certificates with the help of TÜV Nord.
With its flagship product, the Prisma VI fuel cell system, which can be effectively incorporated into both passenger and commercial cars, Refire is currently China’s leading supplier of hydrogen fuel cell technologies.
The Prisma VI system is also reported to be the first Chinese fuel cell product to earn the RDW accreditation, which is a vehicle authority in the Netherlands that is authorized to oversee certification for entering automobiles on a European level.
Furthermore, Refire’s Astraworks factory has received a statement of assessment certifying that its manufacturing and quality control processes are completely compatible with the EU’s COP criteria.
Through systematized IP development and implementation, automation, machine learning, and quality control, Astraworks aims to accelerate the scaling up of hydrogen fuel cell production while maintaining strict standards.
TÜV Nord provides necessary inspection and testing for vehicle type approval before related products can reach the ECE/EU market on behalf of EU authorities.
