At the generation facility at So Gonçalo do Amarante, Ceará, EDP Brazil created the first Green Hydrogen (H2V) molecule. As part of the EDP Group’s commitments to the energy transition, the expansion of the facility is crucial for the production of renewable energy in Brazil.
In order to prepare for future occurrences of the frigid, windless conditions observed in the past week, the energy company SSE has started construction on an underground hydrogen storage cavern in east Yorkshire.
Australia shows that renewable energies are outpacing fossil fuels, but not by much. The Office of the Chief Economist at the federal Department of Industry, Science, and Resources estimates that Australian resource and energy projects are worth A$702 billion ($471 billion).
The “Ulsan Port Green Hydrogen Logistics Hub Project” was presented at the “2022 International Hydrogen Industry Exchange Online Seminar” hosted online on the 16th by the Ulsan Port Authority (UPA), who also spoke as a Korean speaker.
A large number of projects totalling 266 billion Australian dollars ($178 billion) have been proposed for it, but only one hydrogen project has received Australia Investments’ commitment. This demonstrates the scope of the challenge it faces in its quest to become a significant exporter of clean fuel.
A hydrogen and methanol production facility will be built in Tasmania by Iberdrola in partnership with Abel Energy. The plant’s initial output is scheduled for 2026 and its construction will cost $1.7 billion.
