Renew Power, India’s largest renewable energy developer, wants to build a green hydrogen manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, which is home to the 750 MW Rewa Solar Park and has a total capacity of 4,450 MW under construction.
In the State, the corporation is prepared to invest INR 18,000 crore (US$ 2414.29 million) in the construction of a green hydrogen plant with a production capacity of 50 kilotonnes per annum.
Sumant Sinha, chairman and managing director of Renew Power, met with Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, recently to examine the possibility of manufacturing green hydrogen in the state.
The projected 50 ktpa green hydrogen factory, if built, will most likely be the first of its kind in the world. It will employ around 2,000 people.
Green hydrogen created from green energy, according to Sinha, is particularly important in terms of environmental conservation. Given the abundance of solar and wind energy in Madhya Pradesh, the state has a lot of potential for green hydrogen generation.
