In Galicia, Repsol, Naturgy, and Reganosa will work together to build a renewable hydrogen manufacturing facility.

The renewable hydrogen plant will start out with a 30MW capacity and be scalable in stages up to a maximum of 200MW. On the property of the former Meirama thermal power station in the municipality of Cerceda, the project entails the development of an electrolysis plant fueled entirely by renewable energy.

In the first phase, it will create more than 4,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually, with a total annual production of 30,000 tonnes.

The Repsol refinery in A Coruna will switch from using conventional hydrogen to renewable hydrogen, which will be used for industrial purposes. The renewable hydrogen will be used in other industries, like mobility, and it will be put into the gas system to combine with natural gas.
