Revolutionary Hydrogen and Helium Findings at Hoarty NE3 Well

In the context of ongoing explorations in the Mid-West USA, HyTerra Limited has unveiled noteworthy data from the Hoarty NE3 well at the Geneva Project, Nebraska.

This announcement arrives amidst a climate of heightened interest in alternative and sustainable gas sources, particularly natural hydrogen (H2) and helium (He). In the testing period conducted through 2022 and 2023, analysis revealed significant findings from the Hoarty NE3 well. Specifically, gas samples showed hydrogen concentrations fluctuating between 0% and 44%, and helium concentrations ranging from 1.1% to 12.8%. This dual occurrence of hydrogen and helium is not only remarkable in its composition but also in its magnitude—possibly a pioneering result on a global scale. Despite this, the specifics of geological formations contributing to these gases remain undetermined from wellhead samples.

Hydrogen is increasingly valued as a low-carbon energy source. The Hoarty NE3 well demonstrates potential in this sector given its high hydrogen concentration. However, the economic feasibility of harnessing these resources is limited by incomplete flow data, which is crucial for commercial viability. Helium, with its tech industry reliance (notably in semiconductors), adds a parallel avenue of substantial economic benefit.

HyTerra’s strategic sights are set on the Mid-West; this region is highlighted for its potential given natural hydrogen and helium reserves. Areas like the Nemaha Ridge in Kansas further testify to the potential economic boon that these natural resources hold. HyTerra’s focus on white hydrogen, naturally occurring and not artificially synthesized, presents a significant advantage in terms of environmental and cost benefits.
