The Municipality of Vatra Dornei has issued a tender titled “Dotarea Municipiului Vatra Dornei cu stații de încărcare rapidă pentru vehicule electrice” aimed at equipping the city with rapid charging stations for electric vehicles. This tender was published on 2nd April 2025, with the submission deadline set for 5th May 2025.
Main objectives of the tender involve the establishment of 16 charging points through the installation of 8 rapid charging stations across five locations within the area. The technical requirements encourage the use of charged electric installations with an emphasis on fulfilling environmental policies through the adoption of hydrogen fuel technology. These stations will help facilitate the transition from fossil fuel dependencies to cleaner energy solutions, augmenting the city’s green credentials.
Tender requirements call for potential contractors to demonstrate past experience in similar projects with a value of at least 1,500,000 RON (excluding VAT) over the past three years. Contractors must comply with Romanian financial and legal stipulations, ensuring the proposed solutions adhere to national and EU regulations.
Technically, the bidders must also provide a quality assurance in terms of an extended warranty period offering additional months beyond the mandatory minimum of 24 months for the installed equipment.
Through this initiative, Vatra Dornei aims to set a precedent for the adoption of hydrogen technology in Eastern Europe which can stimulate market growth and technological advancement in the hydrogen industry.
