Saipem announces the launch of SUISO, a technological solution for the production of green hydrogen, reiterating its commitment to assisting clients in the energy transition.
The European Union Intellectual Property Office has registered the trademark (EUIPO).
SUISO is a single system that incorporates diverse renewable energy sources such as floating wind, floating solar, and marine energy. The goal is to power electrolyzes installed on existing offshore platforms for the production of green hydrogen, either collectively or individually. The technology meets the growing demand for green hydrogen while also allowing for the conversion of oil and gas offshore installations that have reached the end of their useful lives. The oxygen resulting from this process can be used in various areas such as aquaculture or seaweed production.
SUISO will find its initial application thanks to these capabilities in the AGNES project, an offshore energy center that Saipem, in collaboration with QINT’X, plans to create off the Adriatic coast of Ravenna.
