The Scoping Study for the planned HyEnergy green hydrogen development in Western Australia has been completed by Province Resources and Total Eren.
Upon completion of the Scoping Study, the project can now move into the next phase of development.
A high capacity factor and efficient use of the electrolyser were found to be possible due to the favorable wind and solar resource conditions in the Gascoyne region, according to the Scoping Study. The Scoping Study identified the need for solar arrays, wind turbines, transmission lines, electrical infrastructure, road construction, electrolysers, batteries, hydrogen storage facilities, and administration buildings.
After signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Total Eren in April 2021, Province Resources and Total Eren have begun discussions on a Joint Development Agreement (JDA).
To study exports of green hydrogen to Asian markets, Province and Total Eren have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Perth-based Global Energy Ventures, which is progressing well.
Since the Scoping Study is still in its preliminary stages, ASX and ASIC decided not to include any projected financial information such as capital cost estimates in it. They reasoned that this information might be unreliable. In the HyEnergy Project’s Pre-Feasibility phase, the province expects to be able to better define these variables.
