Seajacks Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seajacks International, has been awarded a contract with Kajima Corporation for the transport and installation of 33 MHI Vestas V117–4.2 MW wind turbine generators in the Akita Port and Noshiro Port offshore wind farms in Japanese waters.
The installation is expected to begin in 2022, when ‘Seajacks Zaratan’ will continue to be used for the project following the foundation’s installation campaign in the previous year. This will be the first commercial fixed base wind farm in Japan and the second one for Seajacks Zaratan in Asia following the Formosa 1 phase 2 project in Taiwan.
