A memorandum of understanding, which will ensure the exchange of documents between Serbia and Hungary on the use of renewable hydrogen was signed by Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Zorana Mihajlovic and Hungarian Minister of Technology and Industry Laszlo Palkovic.

The Serbian minister said that under new laws in the field of green energy, hydrogen is recognized as a renewable energy source and the hydrogen strategy will become an integral part of Serbia’s new strategy.

“The memorandum we have signed is a basis for exchange of documents in this field and discussion on possible joint projects. We are proud that we have already created legal conditions for the use of hydrogen in Serbia,” Mihajlovic said.

She added that she believes Hungary could help Serbia to become even more efficient in that process.

Palkovic said that the price and availability of electricity are key issues in the world now, adding that the memorandum includes aspects such as production, storage and transport of hydrogen.
