Shell has opened the world’s first operational hydrogen bus filling station for the Groningen Drenthe public transportation agency.
Additionally, Shell is equipping the station with green-certified hydrogen, allowing buses to be refueled on-site. This filling station is equipped to service 20 Qbuzz hydrogen buses.
Lisa Montanari, Hydrogen Commercial Manager at Shell Netherlands, said, “Hydrogen is real pioneering. For example, we use certified green hydrogen here, until we can produce green hydrogen ourselves. We regularly test the filling point to ensure that it functions as optimally as possible. We started building even though the market and infrastructure for hydrogen are still in their infancy.”
