Technological behemoth Siemens, in collaboration with the Chinese hydrogen solutions provider Guofu Hydrogen and German hydrogen systems supplier RCT GH Hydrogen, has initiated a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing global green hydrogen production capabilities. This strategic alliance marks a significant stride in the deployment of advanced green hydrogen technologies, focusing on the development and manufacturing of electrolyzers.
This agreement appoints Siemens as the preferred supplier and technological partner throughout Guofu Hydrogen’s value chain, particularly as the company embarks on its ambitious expansion plans. The collaboration zeroes in on three pivotal areas: the development and design of Guofu Hydrogen’s electrolyzers and systems, outfitting new electrolyzer manufacturing facilities set to be established in Germany, and the construction and operation of novel hydrogen production plants. RCT GH Hydrogen’s role as the technological partner encompasses the design, supply, and construction of state-of-the-art hydrogen production facilities.
Axel Lorenz, CEO of Process Automation at Siemens, articulated the broader implications, “This strategic partnership exemplifies Siemens’ commitment to fostering industrial-scale green hydrogen production. By merging our extensive portfolio and sector expertise with Guofu Hydrogen’s ambitions and RCT GH Hydrogen’s proven project execution capabilities, we aim to set new benchmarks for efficiency and scalability in electrolyzer manufacturing. Together, we are laying foundational infrastructure for a sustainable hydrogen ecosystem crucial for the transformation of global energy systems.”
Pchin-fang Wu, Chairman of Guofu Hydrogen, highlighted the symbiosis, stating, “Our partnership with Siemens permits access to cutting-edge automation and digitalization solutions. This collaboration accelerates our global market entry and consolidates our status as a leading green hydrogen solutions provider. Together, we are charting the future course of hydrogen production.”
RCT GH Hydrogen’s contribution, as remarked by CEO Prof. Dr. Peter Fath, involves leveraging its construction and integration expertise to ensure that electrolyzer production facilities meet top-tier efficiency and safety standards. “This cooperation will enable the establishment of new standards in hydrogen infrastructure development, significantly impacting global decarbonization efforts,” he noted. The cooperative venture underscores RCT GH Hydrogen’s role in advancing sustainable hydrogen economies through pioneering technologies and innovative solutions.
Siemens will deploy its Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, incorporating industrial automation products, electrification solutions, building technologies, industrial communication, and cybersecurity measures. The agreement also encompasses digital services and software applications for designing, engineering, simulating, optimizing, and standardizing the entire hydrogen value chain from electrolyzer production to hydrogen plant operations.
An integral aspect of this collaboration is the creation of a global ecosystem for hydrogen energy, uniting suppliers, technology providers, and end-users to catalyze innovation and standardization across the sector. This ecosystem will rest on the Siemens Xcelerator’s open digital business platform, fostering comprehensive integration and collaboration across the value chain.
