Teralta, a pioneering force in hydrogen strategies and infrastructure, has officially launched its innovative clean hydrogen system at a pulp mill in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
This strategic move aligns with Teralta’s international waste hydrogen initiative, focusing on developing utility-scale low-carbon hydrogen for industrial applications.
The project, initiated in 2022, received public acknowledgment from B.C. Premier David Eby during the 21st Annual BC Natural Resources Forum at the Chemtrade facility in Prince George. Premier Eby emphasized the project’s positive impact on job creation, air quality improvement, and its contribution to British Columbia’s hydrogen strategy.
Upon completion and operational readiness of the hydrogen infrastructure, the Prince George mill is poised to benefit significantly. The clean hydrogen supply is projected to fulfill 25% of the mill’s gas energy requirements, marking a crucial shift toward sustainable and environmentally friendly energy sources.
