New Mexico environmental coalition pushes Biden to reject hydrogen hub proposal

In a letter to energy officials in President Joe Biden’s administration, a coalition of Indigenous and environmental organizations from New Mexico urged them to oppose the governor Michelle Lujan Grisham-supported idea of building an interstate hub for hydrogen energy.

The group requested that the Western Interstate Hydrogen Hub proposal made by the governors of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming be rejected in a letter sent to Energy Department Secretary Jennifer Granholm and Director of the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations David Crane on Tuesday.

Pueblo Action Alliance, Indigenous Lifeways, Tó Nizhón n, Los Jardines Institute, Youth United for Climate Crisis Action, Earth Care, New Energy Economy, WildEarth Guardians, and the Center for Biological Diversity are all members of the coalition.

Hydrogen-based Pamesa fuels green energy transformation

In collaboration with eCombustible Energy, Pamesa Group will switch to a hydrogen-based fuel to replace natural gas in its production process. There are no carbon emissions at all with this gasoline. As indicated in a release, the Group now “plans to implement this fuel in all its operations.”

In comparison to existing electrolysis technologies, eFuel has a much greater production efficiency and is produced using an upgraded electrolysis process. This energy does not require any kind of distribution or transportation because it is produced by machinery that is already present in the Pamesa producing facilities. As a result, there are also less carbon emissions produced during the life cycle of conventional fuels.

Carburos Metálicos supplies renewable hydrogen for Hyundai NEXO’s demonstrations

According to a Carburos Metálicos announcement, the Hyundai NEXO will be using renewable hydrogen in a number of demonstrations.

The Hyundai NEXO will be refueled using the hydrogenerator that the Spanish company Alsa erected last year at its maintenance facility in Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain, to show off how quickly hydrogen can be refueled.

The hydrogenerator serves the Community of Madrid’s regular hydrogen urban bus service. Despite being intended for public transportation vehicles, it can be set up to fuel cell-recharge zero-emission automobiles like the Hyundai model.

Calvera Hydrogen releases range of hydrogen generators

A standardized variety of hydrogen generators in three configurations have just been released by Calvera Hydrogen, a company that specializes in hydrogen engineering, production, and maintenance of hydrogen recharging stations (HRS). These generators are compatible with various H2 supply sources, including electrolyser or tube trailer.

The portable HRS, which can refuel buses, trains, and forklifts with up to 1.3 tons of hydrogen each day, is designed for small-scale initiatives, temporary locations, or pilot projects. These systems may be moved about and are containerized, and they have independent mobile storage components.

Up to 1.7 tons of H2 can be stored in the small, modular HRS each day. It is made for medium-sized projects and fleets of public or private cars and the various modules can be combined to increase the capacity and range of refueling pressure.

OceansLab hydrogen fuel cell yacht will test harsh racing conditions

A sustainable technology accelerator called OceansLab has revealed its intention to highlight hydrogen fuel cell technology during prestigious yacht races in order to raise awareness of more extensive marine industry decarbonization alternatives.

All IMOCA (International Monohull Open Class Association) standards are met by the yacht that will be competing. IMOCA has been acknowledged as the official manager of the regulations and requirements for the 60-foot open monohull sailboat class since 1998. “To develop the fleet of monohulls and offer its skippers an attractive and coherent sports programme,” with a special emphasis on sustainability, is the stated goal of IMOCA.

Osborne Clarke offers legal advice to Foresight

Foresight has received legal advice from Osborne Clarke in Bristol about its participation in a new green hydrogen joint venture with Statkraft and Progressive Energy.

The goal of Grenian Hydrogen is to create electrolytic hydrogen plants in the UK.

Grenian will supply the electrolyser technology for the initial projects. The company will start with an initial development portfolio of 200MWe spread over seven projects, 100MWe of which are already in the engineering and consenting phase.

For significant manufacturers looking to move from natural gas to hydrogen to decarbonize processes, the cooperation will provide a bankable service.
