National Gas hires WSP to benchmark hydrogen network architecture best practice

National Gas (NGT) has tasked WSP with spearheading the creation of best practice guidelines for the UK’s new hydrogen network architecture.

In order to make it easier for present assets to be adapted for use on new hydrogen pipelines, NGT will also use the results of this work to inform its standards and policies. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024.

WSP will use its worldwide hydrogen experience in the “Network Design for Hydrogen” project to assess whether the NGT’s current network can be used directly for hydrogen or if further components are needed to guarantee safety and optimal operation. When discussing asset capability, the project will also take network resilience into account.

APM Terminals Pipavav to build green hydrogen ecosystem and port infrastructure

APM Terminals Pipavav has committed to building a green hydrogen ecosystem and associated port infrastructure through a number of agreements. Green hydrogen, a renewable and sustainable energy source derived from water, can be utilized as an energy storage alternative to batteries and in industrial operations to replace fossil fuels in transportation.

APM Terminals has inked Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with NTPC and Welspun, bringing together a group of domestic and foreign partners to facilitate the production, shipping, storage, transshipment, and distribution of hydrogen. Significant volumes are anticipated as a result at APM Terminals Pipavav, which will boost the local economy.

University of St Andrews gets £2M for creation of green hydrogen tech

The Wolfson Foundation has given the University of St Andrews a £2 million grant to support the creation of green hydrogen technologies, which are essential to the decarbonization of the chemical and energy sectors.

The Green Hydrogen Accelerator will offer specialized space for internationally recognized research on the economical synthesis of hydrogen from water and its applications in the synthesis of chemicals and energy storage.

Stellantis’ e-Expert and Ñ-Jumper soon be offered in Peugieot and Citroën ranges

The new Hydrogen versions of the Stellantis Group’s e-Expert and Ñ-Jumper commercial vehicles, which are zero-emission cars that will soon be offered in the Peugieot and Citroën ranges, will be unveiled at the Hyvolution Show in Paris.

Stellantis Pro One is the first global automaker to offer a complete line of hydrogen-powered light utility vehicles with the introduction of these two new models. This is a deal for professionals who want high-usage vehicles for tasks that cannot be completed by battery-powered electric vehicles that require hours of refueling and which also require daily long trips, but who also require zero-emission vehicles for their fleets.
