UK minister visits Aberdeen hydrogen refueling station

A UK government minister visited an Aberdeen hydrogen refueling station where he met executives from the energy sector and prominent council members.

The development of hydrogen-fueled vehicles in the city was a topic of Nusrat Ghani’s visit to Aberdeen City Hydrogen Energy Storage (ACHES), the minister for industry and investment security.

One of the city’s two hydrogen refueling stations, the £2.6 million Cove facility is part of a larger strategy to establish Aberdeen as a green hydrogen centre.

The city council and BP are working together to build a production, storage, and distribution site.

BP executives as well as administration councilors Martin Greig and Miranda Radley welcomed Ghani. She also went to Aberdeen’s recently constructed Port.

H2 Mobility gets two Vivaro-e hydrogen vehicles from Opel

The operator H2 Mobility received two Vivaro-e Hydrogen vehicles from Opel, a member of the Stellantis group.

The Vivaro-e Hydrogen will enter co-branded service and don the colors of Opel and H2 Mobility as a sign of the two businesses’ collaboration. Remember that the 400-kilometer range of the Vivaro-e Hydrogen’s hydrogen fuel cell engine and plug-in battery. As a result, this car is also suitable for highway travel. In addition, the hydrogen recharge just takes three minutes. Additionally, this model provides comfort comparable to a car and driver aid features.

The Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment system in the Opel is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Remember that Opel and Stellantis used their experience from the development of hydrogen vehicles, which has been ongoing for more than 20 years, in the creation of this van.

Safra expects certification of its hydrogen retrofit kit

The Safra business is “in the home stretch” of getting its hydrogen conversion kit, which will be displayed in October 2022 at the Autocar Expo trade show, approved.

This kit converts the engine of a diesel coach into a zero-emission vehicle that runs on hydrogen and emits only water vapor. It is registered under the H2-Pack trademark and is backed by Ademe. Studies on dependability were already conducted during the design phase.

Safra says it has progressed conversations on other retrofit projects and is now converting 15 vehicles in its workshops.
