WA expedites wind, solar, and green hydrogen manufacturing approvals

The Labor-led government in Western Australia has established a new green energy approvals team to expedite the state’s expanding pipeline of renewable energy, green hydrogen, and industrial projects.

The Green Energy Approvals initiative, for which the state will spend $22.5 million, will encourage investment in wind and solar power projects, renewable hydrogen industries, lithium mining, critical minerals processing, and the production of green energy goods like batteries, electrolyzers, solar panels, and wind turbines.

Green Hydrogen Systems has sold all rights issue shares

According to Green Hydrogen Systems, all 104,296,612 additional shares made available through the rights offering have been taken up.

The rights offer was launched by the manufacturer of electrolysers on June 13 (2023), and as of this writing, the total number of shares subscribed for represents gross proceeds to the company of about DKK 469m ($68m).

Green Hydrogen Systems anticipates concluding the offering and using the term loan facilities to borrow a total of DKK 250 million ($36 million) in principal from two shareholders. The whole capital raise surpassed the desired sum of DKK 719 million ($105 million).

Eco-Runner establishes new Guinness Record for hydrogen-powered automobile travel

Smaller vehicles have become more popular and developed during the past few years. Compact vehicles are easier to navigate through congested traffic and undoubtedly catch bystanders’ attention, whether they are cars or bicycles (remember the wheelless bike?

With their tiny hydrogen-powered city Bubble Car, the Eco-Runner student team steals the show this time, setting a new Guinness World Record for the most distance ever traveled by a prototype vehicle running on hydrogen fuel.

LONGi promotes green hydrogen at Summer Davos Forum

The 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF), sometimes referred to as the “Summer Davos Forum”, took place in Tianjin from June 27 to 29. The chairman of LONGi, Zhong Baoshen, attended the forum and gave presentations at the “Net-Zero Hero? The “China Energy Transition Roundtable” and “The Decarbonization of Industry Clusters.”

This year’s forum had as its theme “Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global Economy.” Over 1500 leaders and innovators from throughout the globe, including those from politics, industry, academia, social organizations, and international organizations, attended. The forum has successfully been organized 13 times since the first Summer Davos in 2007 and has developed into a significant forum for dialogue between China and the rest of the world.

Zhong confidently stated during his speech at the forum that LONGi, the largest solar technology business in the world, is anticipated to accomplish a remarkable shipment volume of 85GW of cells and modules as well as 130GW of silicon wafers in 2023. He continued by saying that it can drastically lower carbon emissions and produce roughly 150 billion tons of green electricity.
