Innovative hydrogen solutions bag top honours in TERA-Award
Hong Kong hosted the third TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition, where leading hydrogen technologies shared the spotlight. Towngas announced the triumphant projects, with a Chinese team clinching the Gold Award with their advanced alkaline hydrogen-producing apparatus, slashing hydrogen production costs.
Hua Xia Hydrogen Technology, China, seized the Gold Award and the US$1 million prize, courtesy of their sophisticated design for hydrogen production through water electrolysis. The technology necessitates fewer than 4.3 kWh of DC power per cubic metre of hydrogen, thereby encouraging direct hydrogen production from renewable sources and slashing costs of equipment and boosting long-term operational steadiness. Various sectors, including industry, transport, and power, can utilise this technology, offering economical solutions for hydrogen production.
