Taras Wankewycz, founder and CEO of H3 Dynamics, stated, “New industries are rarely established by one guy or one business.” “They necessitate alliances and, eventually, entire ecosystems.” Universal Hydrogen Co. and H3 Dynamics launched a new hydrogen aviation cooperation.
“We have almost a decade of experience in hydrogen-powered flight at H3 Dynamics, with an emphasis on powertrains for unmanned—and soon manned—aircraft,” Wankewycz added. “And, given that Universal Hydrogen is well-positioned to dominate the market for hydrogen fuel services for aviation, it’s only logical that our firms collaborate to make genuine zero-emission flying a reality.” The two businesses will combine their expertise to develop scale in the hydrogen aircraft space more quickly.
H3 Dynamics will develop and supply fuel cell powertrain solutions, while Universal Hydrogen will provide green hydrogen fuel logistics using its modular capsule technology. The collaboration will initially focus on the full range of unmanned aircraft, from small drones to large unmanned cargo delivery. The collaboration includes manned aircraft, as well as eVTOL and other light aircraft components. The two businesses also decided to work in the smaller aircraft industry, with an emphasis on new-build regional airliners with distributed propulsion.
“This agreement is an instant force multiplier for both firms’ size and reach,” said Paul Eremenko, co-founder and CEO of Universal Hydrogen Co. “It will enable us to move quickly to deliver real zero-emissions solutions across a broad spectrum of aircraft.” “As a result, we’re considering establishing a combined R&D facility in Toulouse, France, as Toulouse is a key talent base for both of us.”
